Ginny Encila, Master Teacher
Individualized instruction, supportive studio environment
Ginny Encila is an artist, an award-winning master teacher, and a high-honors graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. With a year-round schedule of classes and workshops for young people and adults, she offers something for everyone—even those who don’t think of themselves as artists. A former veteran of Catalina Foothills School District, Ginny serves as current visual art instructor and director of the Innovation Institute at St. Gregory Preparatory School. Her teaching has garnered numerous awards, including Souther Arizona Middle Level Teacher of the Year. She is also recipient of a prestigous interdisciplinary award from the Arizona Administrators’ Association and the Arizona Alliance for Arts Education. Her work has been featured on National Teacher Television and on the Arlingtion, Virginia Television, Fine Arts Series. Ginny is a six-time cooperating teacher for the University of Arizona, and a former member of the Arizona State Department of Education Teacher Proficiency Assessment Committee.
Her approach to teaching is warm and personalized, and her ability to tap into each individual’s creative spirit is unparalleled. Students will learn tangible artistic skills in addition to getting a large dose of that which cannot be traditionally taught, but is somehow transmuted during her lessons: inspiration.
